📈 26% OF UK ADULTS HAVE USED AI!

26% of all adults in the UK have used AI, a new study has revealed. Deloitte found that 13 million people between 18-75 had used the tool, representing approximately a quarter of UK adults. 4 million of which were for work.

These numbers are huge - it took smart speakers 5x as long to achieve this level of adoption. But let’s think about it for a minute.

While this is no doubt extremely impressive - most people hadn’t heard of AI applications until ChatGPT came along, it shows that 3 out of 4 people have still never used it at all!

The study also found that almost half had never even heard of generative AI! That’s going to change soon. AI is only going to get bigger and bigger.

When you compare AI to the internet, it’s clear there’s a long way to go! I’m confident in 10 years, everybody will be using AI in their daily lives. That’s why we say Mindstream subscribers are ahead of the curve! When ¾ people have never even used AI, you know you’re on top by being involved this early on!

🖥️ AI DRIVING RISE IN COMPUTING STUDIES

Artificial intelligence is driving students to study computer-related subjects in droves, according to UCAS.

If you’re a fellow Brit you will know what UCAS is, but for those unfortunate sods who aren’t - UCAS is the platform through which UK schoolkids apply to university.

They have reported a huge 10% increase on last year in the number of students applying to computer-related studies.

Software engineering saw the steepest rise in applications, up 16% compared to last year. Computer science attracted 11% more applicants. There was a 2% rise in students applying to study computer games and animation, and 4% in artificial intelligence (AI). You can bet that number is about to explode.

Smart kids can see how AI is going to impact our daily lives. Careers in AI might just be the next big thing. Does your child want to be an astronaut or a prompt engineer?
