AI TOOLS

When the world turned upside down during Covid, some of the smartest people in business jumped at the opportunity to introduce transformational change. Remote work became the norm, and with it, a new challenge:

How can we train and onboard new employees remotely?

Enter Guidde. By turning video creation into an easy, accessible tool for everyone, onboarding and training remote workers became simple.

And none of would be possible without AI powering it all behind the scenes.

The vision

Co-founder Yoav Einav, with a rich background in AI, deep learning, and video technology, recognised the challenges posed by remote work.

Traditional communication methods were falling short, with endless Zoom calls and Slack messages leading to inefficiencies.

Enav, alongside his co-founder, identified an opportunity to bridge the gap between static documents and live interactions by developing a tool that could seamlessly integrate into daily workflows.

Their vision was clear: to make video communication accessible, personalised, and impactful for businesses worldwide.

The pandemic may have accelerated the shift to remote and hybrid work models, but it also underscored the limitations of traditional communication tools.

How Guidde slots in

Guidde makes video tutorial creation incredibly simple and fast. The tool itself is a Chrome extension that can be installed in just a couple of clicks. The platform allows users to record and edit videos without requiring any technical expertise.

With just a few clicks, businesses can create professional-quality videos, complete with branding, motion, and voiceovers in multiple languages. Guidde's AI-driven technology automates the entire process.

By documenting processes using Guidde, employees can quickly see step-by-step tutorials and learn by repeating and following the steps.

It’s like having your new manager showing you something over and over on demand.

So, it’s out with the lengthy manuals and outdated PDFs and in with easy-to-follow interactive videos. This format makes it easier for teams to learn and apply new skills efficiently.

One of their smartest marketing decisions was to create a free-use tier. You can try Guidde for free and make your own video tutorials. Once you’ve used it in your business, you’ll see why thousands of companies are now relying on it, and the value it adds.

“Meme marketing” is a hot new trend, and Guidde is making use of it!

Continuing to innovate in the AI era

The team at Guidde understands continual innovation is key to maintaining their strong position in the market, especially in a space as fast-moving as AI.

The company is actively developing new features, such as voice cloning and interactive video templates, to further enhance user experience. As AI continues its march forward, Guidde hopes to be right at the cutting edge.

Organisations are increasingly recognising the value of video, and Guidde hopes to become an indispensable tool for many teams going forward.

Try Guidde and transform your processes

If you want to try Guidde for yourself, simply install the Chrome extension and click the capture button!

From there, Guidde records everything you do on screen and automatically turns it into a video tutorial, which you can then easily edit an rearrange before publishing.

AI FUNDING

The new Labour government has decided to shelve £1.3 billion in funding that the Conservatives promised for tech and AI projects.

This includes £800 million for an exascale supercomputer at Edinburgh University and £500 million for AI research.

These funds were announced less than a year ago but were never included in the budget.

Some in the tech industry have criticised this decision, arguing it might push talent and innovation towards the US.

TechUK has called on the government to quickly introduce new plans, warning that the UK risks falling behind in key future industries.

The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) defended its decision, citing necessary budget adjustments to restore economic stability.

However, they insist they remain committed to building tech infrastructure in the UK.

The fate of the Edinburgh exascale supercomputer, expected to be 50 times faster than any current computer in the UK, is now uncertain.

Edinburgh University had already spent £31 million on the project.

What you should know:

  • £1.3 billion in funding for tech and AI, including £800 million for Edinburgh's supercomputer, has been shelved.

  • Concerns raised about losing tech talent to the US; urgent calls for new government proposals.

  • The tech sector is crucial, with a market value of $1.1 trillion (£863 billion) in early 2024.

Taking a breather

Sue Daley, director of technology and innovation at TechUK, stressed the importance of investing in supercomputing for scientific breakthroughs.

She urged the government to act quickly to remain competitive globally.

Meanwhile, DSIT has appointed Matt Clifford to identify new AI opportunities, including infrastructure.

The tech sector remains vital for UK economic growth, with a reported value of £863 billion in the first quarter of 2024, according to Tech Nation.
