😮 EVIL CHATGPT IS HERE

ChatGPT’s evil cousin is here (and no, we’re not talking about ChatGPT after you’ve used our DAVE guide).

WormGPT promises to be ChatGPT’s evil twin, doing everything ChatGPT can’t do, without any legal, ethical or moral limitations.

Remember Bart’s evil twin? That’s WormGPT.

It has been launched anonymously by a so-called hacker and can be used for all sorts of illegal activities, its founder claims.

The tool isn’t free though, with a price tag that seems to vary. Some are reporting it is over $600 per year. The founder also claims they have 1500 users!

Will WormGPT become the mainstream tool of evil minds everywhere? That remains to be seen. It is also unclear how good it actually is, with some users of the tool saying it’s completely worthless.

Maybe they just copied our DAVE guide after all!?

Stable Diffusion

Okay, you’ve probably heard of this one. While Midjourney gets all the plaudits, Stable Diffusion is seen as its ugly cousin. This is unfair! Stable Diffusion can do everything Midjourney can, the only caveat is that it’s harder to use.

Did I mention it’s completely free?

Well okay, there’s a catch. You’ll need a really powerful computer, ideally with one of Nvidia’s latest graphics cards, to run it locally.

If you’re blessed with one, there’s no reason not to tinker with it!

😳 OPENAI KILLS ITS AI DETECTOR

OpenAI has quietly killed its AI detector. No, it’s not a person. Phew.

The AI detection tool, AI Classifier, was launched in January, to counter worries about how we can successfully detect when content is AI-generated.

OpenAI’s tool was meant to be the answer, but instead, it’s dead in the water after just 6 months.

But why? Well… it turns out it wasn’t very good, with it labelling on average 26% of AI-generated text as AI, and 9% of human text AI. Rubbish numbers.

OpenAI says they’ve closed it down due to “its low rate of accuracy,” Hmm. That doesn’t bode well for trying to clamp down on essay cheaters.

They also haven’t announced a replacement tool, but say they continue to research how to successfully label AI content. Get to it, people!
