💼 AI TO CREATE MORE JOBS, SAYS AIRBNB CEO

I am a big believer and supporter of AI. I mean c'mon, I write an AI newsletter! But even I am slightly worried about some of the implications of AI. Particularly, mass job losses.

I remember the moment this first freaked me out, in 2019 watching Andrew Yang on Joe Rogan. They discussed the implications of truck drivers losing their jobs to automated driving.

Check out his chilling warning, in his own words:

Brian Chesky paints a different picture:

On Jason Calacanis's podcast, he was very optimistic about the job market, especially for entrepreneurs.

“I think this is going to create millions of start-ups ... entrepreneurship is going to be a boon,” Chesky said

“Anyone can essentially do the equivalent of what software engineering only allowed you to do only five years ago”.

“I think it's easier to imagine what jobs will be displaced than what jobs would be created”.

I have to agree with Brian. Throughout history, significant technological advancements always spark a feat of job losses. Generally proving to be untrue.

Tools and technology improving the ease for entrepreneurs to create empires is great. But, I cannot see 3.5 million truck drivers creating internet startups.
The future is uncertain, and nobody knows what's going to happen. I can tell you for certain though, if you understand AI, you're going to be better off.

🏥 NHS INVESTS £21 MILLION IN AI

Britain's National Health Service is the latest organisation to jump aboard the AI train! They plan to utilise AI to support both diagnosis and treatment.

This will include the use of AI tools to analyse chest X-Rays, which are the most common tool used to detect lung cancer. Lung cancer is still the leading cause of death in the UK.

There is also hope that AI will be able to increase the speed of stroke diagnosis. Catching a stoke early triples the chance of the patient living independently after.

There are tonnes of AI developments going on in the medical space. On the My First Million podcast, controversial figure Martin Shkreli announced his new startup "Dr Gupta".

GuPTa (GPT) - See what he did there?

It is an AI chatbot trained in everything medicine. So now, rather than googling symptoms and freaking out thinking you have cancer, you can chat to Dr Gupta and freak out instead!

That wart on your foot you have been ignoring, think you should find out what it is? Talk to Dr Gupta here!
